The photographers who are
featured in the book are:
Yasuyoshi
Chiba
is a Japanese freelance
photographer based in Nairobi, Kenya. He worked as a staff
photographer for Asahi Shimbum, Japan's 2nd largest national
paper, for 12 years before moving to Kenya. His photography
during Kenya's post-elections violence has been awarded the
Public Prize of Bayeux Calvados Award for War Correspondents
and nominated for the Visa d'Or News Award of 2008 in International
Photography. Chiba is also the recipient of the First prize
in the People in the News Singles category of the 2009 World
Press Photo contest.
Boniface Mwangi
is a 25-year old, Kenyan
award winning photographer. He has been recognized severally,
winning the CNN Africa Photojournalist of the Year 2008, and
nominated for the Joop World Press Master Class 2008 as one
of the finest and most promising young photographers from
Africa. His work has been published in the New York Times,
International Herald Tribune, The Guardian, Los Angeles Times
and BBC Focus in Africa Magazine among other international
publications.
